Seminar Adam Sarafian (Corning Incorporated)

In this talk, we will introduce Corning Incorporated, a large material science company who has a strong history and focus on research and development in glass and ceramic science. We will then discuss how we have used tools obtained with an education in the geosciences to learn about fast hydration in silicate glasses, which can be used as a cell phone cover glass and serve as a warning of how quickly some processes can occur in amorphous materials.
