Arrival of Prof. James BRENAN

Dr. James Brenan is current Associate Dean Research (acting) for the Faculty of Science at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada, and Full Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Professor J. Brenan has nearly 30 years of experience in experimental geochemistry, with specific knowledge of fluid- and sulfide-bearing magmatic systems, and related mineral deposits. There are only a very limited number of experimental studies in which the trace element content of felsic melts has been measured as a function of the degree of melting or crystallization (Pichavant, 2022; Michaud et al., 2021). James proposes to conduct laboratory experiments at controlled pressure, temperature and oxygen fugacity in which melts are segregatedfrom their crystalline residue and measured for their major and trace element composition.
