DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Water and Quartz : Transport and Deformation Aspects at High Pressure and Temperature\nOct. 10th/11th 2017 in Orléans \nThe workshop will take place at the\nInstitut des Sciences de la Terre à Orléans (ISTO)\nUMR-CNRS 7327\nUniversité d'Orléans\n1A\, rue de la Férollerie\nF - 45071 - Orléans Cedex 2\nFrance \nTuesday\, 10th of October:\n9:15 - 12:15: Fluid inclusion studies (keynote speaker: Alexandre Tarantola)\n12:15 - 14.00 Lunch break\n14:00 - 17:00: Spectroscopic aspects and physico-chemical properties             of confined water (keynote speaker: Carmen Sanchez-Valle)\n19:00: Dinner\nWednesday\, 11th of October:\n9:15 - 12:15: Deformation with water (keynote speaker: Andreas Kronenberg)\n12:15 - 14.00: Lunch break\n14:00 - 17:00: Transport properties (keynote speaker: Lukas Baumgartner) \nSession organization: \nFor each topic\, the keynote speaker shall give an introductory lecture about the state of the art and the main open questions and unexplained observations. This lecture will be followed by ~2 to 3hrs of open discussion moderated by the keynote speaker and the organizers.\nTo stir up an active and lively discussion and address as many of the salient points as possible\, you are encouraged to organize some informal presentation of specific points you wish to make to any of the themes of the workshop during the discussion. The format of illustrating a specific point(s) during the discussion is up to your choice: short informal power point presentations (up to ∼5 minutes max)\, white board or other visual media\, hand-outs (printing on-site will be possible)\, etc. To organize the discussion\, you are invited to transmit before mid-September an outline of the points you want to illustrate. \nDuring the sessions\, there will be breaks\, and coffee/tea will be available. We will all gather for a workshop dinner at a downtown restaurant on Tuesday evening. Participants are kindly asked to organize a hotel for themselves - a list of proposed downtown hotels at reasonable rates is attached.\nAll participants are welcome to meet us on Monday\, the 9th of October at 21:00 for a drink at Paxton´s Pub\, 264 Rue de Bourgogne\, 45000 Orléans.\nTransport from downtown to the department is easiest by public transport. Hugues Raimbourg and Holger Stünitz will meet you at 8:00 hrs at the Tram Line A\, stop De Gaulle on Tuesday morning to show you the way to the department.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] \n
